Palm Sunday:
Christ’s Triumphal Entry Into Jerusalem
The Sunday
before Easter is what the Christian world traditionally calls Palm Sunday. This
day commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem the
Sunday before His death.
Before
entering Jerusalem for the final time, Jesus asked two of His disciples to
bring Him a donkey’s foal, also known as a colt (see Matthew 21:1–7). In
fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, Jesus entered Jerusalem riding the colt
(see Zechariah 9:9).

- Stake Youth Fireside on Sunday, at the Ashton Stake Center at 6 p.m. We
have the privilege of hosting the BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers and Vocal Union
choirs. They will be presenting their traveling tour program called,
"Choose Love." Ashton Stake youth, their families, and
youth leaders are all invited to attend. Sunday dress please.
April
4-5 - General Conference – There will be no ward services on Easter
weekend. Instead, we invite all to view the 196th General Conference
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Easter weekend. General Sessions on Saturday and Sunday are
from: 10am-12pm and 2pm to 4pm.

Like the
prodigal son’s elder brother, our focus is often centered on ourselves. We are
so consumed with seeking evidence of God’s love for us, and we become
frustrated when we do not see it. But the beautiful paradox is that the more
we are focused on showing our love for God, the more easily we recognize His
love for us. Perhaps this is why the Savior responded to the question
“Which is the great commandment?” with this simple and important invitation:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind.”(Matthew 22:36-37)
